Telephone remote resetter

The EC-RC range of phone remote resetters are designed to be used in a wide range of applications where the remote control of any device is necessary.

The EC-RC4F will control up to 4 devices independantlyand uses the fixed PSTN phone network (analogue line) while the EC-RC4FG also has a built in GSM gateway which enables you to simply add a SIM card and use the unit anywhere there is a mobile phone signal.

Use the range of resetters where:
– You need to remotely control or reboot any device.
– You need to be able to remotely turn on/off a device (Office, automation, etc…)
– you need to remotely control a device where there is no fixed phone line available.

The EC-RC4FD is a variant that has Sub-D relay connectors on the rear instead of the standard IEC mains connectors for applications where direct relay contacts are required.

The EC-RC4F connects directly to an analogue telephone line (POTS) and when you dial it, the unit will ask you for a password and then you are able, via DTMF tones on any phone, to switch on/off or reboot any device connected to any of its 4 channels independantly. It is powered directly from the mains (230vAC) and the device to be remote controlled is connected via the dual IEC connectors. It operates in a ‘fail safe’ mode as the power to the unit to be controlled is separate from the EC-RC4F power supply and in the event of a power cut, will return to it´s ‘ON’ position. In an unlikely event of a failure of the EC-RC4F, the device connected with also revert to its ‘fail safe’ ‘ON’ position.

This unit is also controllable from any PC (that has a modem) via our custom built software.

Also available is the GSM Gateway in situations where there is no fixed landline available, this allows the unit to be used anywhere where there is a GSM signal available.

SMS Controller & Alerter

A product that will control any type of equipment via SMS messages and inform you of any change of state via SMS. Ideal for controlling equipment remotely and get warnings sent immediately via SMS. Useful for any situation where a landline is not available.

Turn on/off equipment with your mobile phone, and get a text message if there are any problems. This device could also be used as an alerter, for example if there is a power outage, change of state in equipment, low level indicator…

Basically this device will work for you in any situation where you either need to control equipment remotely via mobile phone or receive alerts on your mobile phone from remote equipment.

It has 4 configurable inputs to read the state of any type of device and send it to your mobile phone, and 8 configurable outputs which can also control any type of device, all from your mobile phone.

As the units are ‘built to order’ I can build, configure and program it to your requirements including designing and building any additional circuits needed to interface to the unit so it works as you require. The unit can work off mains or 12v (DC) and can optionally have battery backup.

Silence Detector Software

Software for radio, television or in fact any application where you wish to detect silence via software and have multiple ways of alerting on a fault. This software is very configurable and can alert you via Email, SMS, sound, file launch & external relays via the parallel port. All settings are user configurable, from the audio threshold to the trigger settings, which program to launch, in fact pretty much every setting is user configurable to suit every application.

Use the External relay board to switch audio sources and the external SMS module for total control and alerting.

The software will run on all (tested) Windows operating systems.

To send SMS messages you will need the external SMS hardware module which is available separately.

Well, I have decided to write a blog on my long life in Radio…

I had thought about doing this for quite a while and have now decided to make a start on it as part of my new website… I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to write or how much, or even in what order, but I’ll try and write something on a regular basis.
